WHY Sex Ed? Big Question! Sex, sexuality and sexual anatomy have a negative or shameful cloak over them. But, when we encourage discussions and education on sex, it helps remove the shame and negativity surrounding it. When shame and mystery are removed, it's easier to speak about sex, making it simpler to navigate sex/sexual health in the real world. Sex ed gives us the info to make safer choices, provides resources, teaches us about consent, boundaries, sexual self awareness… and MANY other things. It saves lives, broadens understandings and is the basis for a healthy sex life. Plus, sex educated people can inspire and empower others, leading to more sexually healthy and inclusive micro and macro communities. Hi, I'm Jessica Wyslouzil, she/her. Founder of Trailblaze Sex Education, Sex Educator, LPN, and 500 hour yoga teacher. I live on the unceded and breathtaking land of the Sinixt, the Ktunaxa, the Secwepemc, and the Sylix, also known by it's colonial name of Revelstoke, British Columbia. I am a passionate educator, presenter, social activist, nurse, and mother. I believe that current, comprehensive, and diverse sex ed is a giant step forward in creating acceptance and therefore uniting the people across the planet ♥️ ✌️
