WHY Sex Ed? Big Question! Sex, sexuality and sexual anatomy have a negative or shameful cloak over them. But, when we encourage discussions and education on sex, it helps remove the shame and negativity surrounding it. When shame and mystery are removed, it's easier to speak about sex, making it simpler to navigate sex/sexual health in the real world. Sex ed gives us the info to make safer choices, provides resources, teaches us about consent, boundaries, sexual self awareness… and MANY other things. It saves lives, broadens understandings and is the basis for a healthy sex life. Plus, sex educated people can inspire and empower others, leading to more sexually healthy and inclusive micro and macro communities. Hi, I'm Jessica Wyslouzil, she/her.
